A lush colorful garden, infinity pool, clear view of the bay, and your own private boat dock. With an outdoor lounge deck inspired by the world’s most luxurious spas. What more could you want in your outdoor living space? Music, of course. Here’s an in-depth look at the immersive experience of Coastal Source audio solutions for enviable outdoor spaces.

Our home in North Bay provides the ultimate smart outdoor living space. We set out to create a place where we could enjoy the South Florida climate all year long. Be it a sunset cocktail with my wife, a small dinner party on the patio with friends, or a large gathering of guests filling the oceanside garden, it is a rockin’ space. Literally.

Nestled amongst lush tropical gardens framing the property are the most amazing speakers anyone could possibly desire. We chose the Sub/Zero Bass Steering System by Coastal Source because of its directional sound feature. It allows us to play our music louder and completely control the distribution. The volume is as consistent up close to the bollard as it is 20 feet away. An actual work of art, the speakers distribute smoothly even audio throughout the garden and all the way to our boat dock.

When choosing our outdoor audio system, I was, of course, concerned that noise pollution would be an issue for the neighbors. Although there is a lot of space between our properties, standard audio technology could have been a problem. But with the bollards and some smaller mini bollards placed around the perimeter, we were able to completely control the direction of the sound distribution. When we want it loud enough to fill up the space, we can have it, without inconveniencing our dear neighbors.

To top it all, we can control the outdoor audio system flawlessly with our smartphones and home control system app. So we can listen to programming from the patio TV with pristine clarity. And with a quick tap of the phone screen, I can turn on lighted furniture, outdoor lighting, fans, control the security gate…essentially every smart feature of our home.

We appreciate the ability to set scenes in the outdoor areas with our smart home system. Especially at the boat dock when we leave for a day’s ocean adventure. Personalized playlists and lighting are set for each hour of the day. And those scenes are controlled easily from our phones. So we can rock out upon departure under the morning sun. And then hit the “Evening Cruise” scene upon return, which includes outdoor bullet lights and step lights. Illuminating both the exterior and interior of our residences is a need as much as a luxury.

I can’t imagine a better way to fully enjoy the outdoor living space of our smart home. We are so thankful to the design teams that made it possible. Sound, light, and lush surroundings provide a way to relax in complete tranquility at the edge of the sea.
