Automation is taking over. And it is enhancing every element of society. Commercial spaces in the sectors of hospitality, medicine, the arts, academia, and more are getting smart. Integration of automated technology elevates every aspect of a space from smart lighting to climate control, and energy efficiency to security, increasing productivity and positively impacting health.

Follow along with our tour of a Miami CEO’s automated workspace.

A few years ago, I ran with an idea that took on a life of its own. The company grew quickly and we multiplied as a team, quickly outgrowing our first office space. We were finally ready for an office of our own that stimulated creativity and kept us focused and excited about our mission.

We chose a location in downtown Miami that offered architectural aesthetics and infrastructure for unlimited smart technology. The finished product is an enviable work environment that is so smart it runs on its own. It allows us to enjoy our creativity and stay at the peak of productivity at all times.

At Our Command

The automated technology in the office responds to voice and touch control. Before I walk through the door, I can use my phone to turn on the lights. The smart thermostats are continuously learning from our behavior. The smart thermostats continuously learn from our behavior so temperatures in different areas of the office automatically adjust to perfection throughout the day. The climate is exactly what we need to escape the Miami humidity.

Awesome LED

Aside from the beer fridge, the most exciting feature in the office is the lighting. We went with LED technology that naturally keeps our circadian rhythms regulated throughout the day and night. The office has plenty of windows for natural light, but there are times when we need more illumination from the LED bulbs, like in the evening, as well as in areas like the bathrooms, storage closets. Preprogrammed “scenes” give us the ability to change the hue of the bulbs as the day fades to evening. It makes an obvious difference in our health and productivity, leaving us more energized and calm.

Ambient Acoustics

We change the music selections throughout the day according to our mood. The morning is set with an uptempo enlivening mix to get the blood pumping up to our brains. A state-of-the-art speaker system hides in the walls throughout the office, controlled by voice command. The acoustic network extends to the bathrooms and balconies. Team members easily share music compilations throughout the day. Everyone can easily add a tune to the active Spotify playlist and avoid the occasional mix war.

Visual Aesthetics

We have a soundproof conference room with a large TV Mirror. An OLED screen occupies the back wall of the office. Both features are used not only for brain-storming sessions and meetings but also for visual ambiance and entertainment. Clients are constantly impressed during presentations. Visuals on our screens definitely increase the wow factor.

Flawless Security

We are all excited to arrive at our new office every day. Smartphone access to the building makes it easy for us to get in. We also have surveillance cameras and doorbell integration. When clients and vendors are waiting to get in, we can use our smartphones, computers, and other devices to check it out and unlock the front door. The physical security and cybersecurity are both seamlessly tight, offering us complete peace of mind.

I can honestly say no one on the team is in a hurry to go home at the end of the day. We are colleagues as well as family. Because we all had a hand in the design and decor of the place we spend most of our day, it feels like a smart intuitive second home.
