A responsive home is the ultimate setting for a party. Be it large or small, day or night…smart home technology sets the scene and directs attention to all the right places. Created to enhance your lifestyle and carefully programmed to help you live more fully an automated home allows you to enjoy your summer soirée while in total command of your unique space.

Take a look at a Miami socialite’s party in a smart home made for entertaining.

The sun streams in through floor to ceiling windows glistening off newly polished surfaces of marble slabs and wine glasses. Shining through bottles of rosé and white wine. The scent of Magnolia fills the kitchen from blooms in short wide vases flanking the bottles and stemware. And it makes me totally giddy.

I moved into my new home in mid-January and have been waiting patiently for the perfect time to host my summer soirée, a yearly tradition for the past five years. This weekend, all my friends are actually in town and the weather is gorgeous. Everything is perfectly aligned for a sunset summer gathering here on North Bay.

My smart home system includes scene presets for lighting, shading, music, security, and climate control. This makes preparing for events, setting the mood for dinner, and even shutting down the house when I leave, really easy. But especially for this evening, I’ve created several “Soirée” scenes. This allows me to quickly adjust the mood and atmosphere of the entire house without running from room to room. I can also easily change playlists and bring on the candlelit glow of overhead LED lights as the sun sets.

Guests arrive at the front gate as well as the boat dock. I can watch the cameras at both entrances, and open the gate from my tablet. A house staff member greets people at the dock sending messages with simple voice commands to let me know who is here. But of course, I can keep my eye on the cameras as well. There are some guests I want to see the moment they step onto the dock.

Soon my home is full of beautiful people lounging on the pool deck and relaxing under fans on the patio. I use touch commands to change the playlist and turn up the music. Drinks and hors d’oevres are served. I move into the living room and adjust the space temperature with voice commands. I see some people climbing up the stairs to the second level of the house. And I subtly and stealthily use the tablet to adjust the accent lighting so they can fully enjoy the art up there.

As the sun starts to go down, I use the “Sunset time” scene. The playlist changes again, sending subdued loungy vibes echoing through the house and onto the patio. The lights come on throughout the house casting a subtle glow. The firepits also light up at the same time. And when the sun dips a little lower, I use touch commands again to turn the pool lights purple.

Soon everyone is moving with the music. With another quick voice command, I activate digital wallpaper scenes. And Quentin Tarantino film clips play silently in black and white on the projector room walls. Guests use the smart wine fridge to refill their glasses and then relax in the theater seating.

The party is a hit and everyone loves the responsive technology and the unique way the house flows with the mood of the party. I didn’t stress for a single moment or run about adjusting things. My smart home and house staff made it the magical soirée I’ve imagined for months. As I sit around the patio firepit chatting with my friends, I can use my phone to open and shut the gate as cars drive up to whisk away happy guests. Together we’ve made a wonderful memory in my new smart home.
