Crestron debuted their new OS 3 at Amsterdam’s ISE in February of 2019. It was then released in September of 2019. And the smooth intuitive operating system is all about the user experience. With sleek simple buttons, favorites, and endlessly customizable options, the OS 3 has been labeled a “game-changer.” Controlling your smart home with Crestron just got a lot more exciting.

All your properties appear on one screen. Personalize each button with a photo of the home’s beautiful exterior with easily customizable buttons. Then take a look inside each one with quick taps and swipes. You can see the status of each room, with favorites at the top of each list. And click on each room to manage details like shading, thermostats, sound, and lighting. Finally, simply swipe down to close the room.

Speaking of light, Crestron now supports Lutron lighting and shading. The OS seamlessly interfaces with Lutron’s RA2 Select and HomeWorks QSX. Any button can pass through and adjust Lutron products for perfect ambiance at all times.

Function groups appear for the most common operations. With a single tap, you can lock all the doors on the property. With another, you can arm the alarm system. Then manage the exterior lighting functions to illuminate the outside of the home for added safety. The operating system also includes security camera support.

Another exciting feature of the OS 3 is compatibility with Smart TVs. You can adjust media choices and audio simply with your Crestron application. Monitoring what your kids are watching, just got a whole lot easier. And it includes direct access to streaming platforms such as Hulu and Netflix. Apple TV is another added feature with this OS and Siri voice control is part of the exciting technology.

Crestron’s OS 3 is available for your mobile device and tablet, as well as for Crestron’s touch screen. Push notifications pop up with important alerts. The system also works with Google voice technology.

“OS 2 delivered the foundation; OS 3 perfects the experience. It’s completely redesigned; simple, clean, and sophisticated. Add in the remarkably fast deployment of any sized project, and top it off with the best hardware in the business. Why use anything else?” said Michael Short, Global Residential Marketing Manager for Crestron. Crestron Press Release 4th February 2019.
