We’ve all had our fill of hearing about the COVID-19 Coronavirus. It has changed the way we live our lives. Wash your hands, don’t touch your face, shop with gloves, open the door at the yoga studio while using a wipe as a barrier…But, this is where voice control technology shines…at least in our homes.

The Assistants

Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Siri, and Josh.ai are your best friends during this pandemic. You probably still have to touch your smartphone, but you can keep it a lot cleaner if you aren’t using it all the time. Personal Assistant technology allows you to control your smart home so easily.

Kitchens and bathrooms will still be places that require a ton of handwashing. But when it comes to music, media, lighting, shading, and arming/disarming doors and security, smart home technology keeps our hands clean and free.

Use Your Voice

Cooking is a breeze too. Sterile fingers can stay dedicated to chopping vegetables and mixing ingredients. Recipes, oven temperatures, and even the faucet can be managed with voice commands or a wave of the hand. Smart home systems are capable of monitoring air quality, water purity, and climate comfort so you don’t have to. If things get too hot in the kitchen, just use voice commands to lower the temperature on the thermostat.

Command Everything

Music and lighting are adjusted with a few words. Grocery, wine, or clothing deliveries are easily managed with your voice control system. A smart doorbell or camera tells you when FedEx or UPS arrives. You can unlock the door and even open it without using your hands. Delivery services have started forgoing signatures at this time so the only thing you have to think about is…who touched that package…? Grab the Lysol.

Mirror TVs around the house are a great way to stay hands-free. Check your email, manage your schedule, add to your grocery list, and order some running shoes…with a few words.

Voice control technology allows you to fill your bathtub or start your steam shower without going into the bathroom. Turn on the fireplace in your bedroom, lower the lights, change your playlist, and bring the shading down, all with voice commands. All while keeping those hands sparkling clean.

Relax

During these unprecedented times, you can sit back and enjoy the comfort and ease smart home technology brings. Eventually, the pandemic will pass. And then we will all emerge again as social beings…with really excellent handwashing habits.
